Kimo Proudfoot is a filmmaker and photographer based in Los Angeles. Born and raised in Hawaii, he began his career as a local Kauai PA on Jurassic Park, and cut his teeth on other films like A Far Off Place, Little Giants, The Flinstones, Congo and Schindler’s List. Eventually he began directing and shooting music videos and concert films for artists like Jay-Z, Linkin Park, Soulfly and Coheed and Cambria. As a Director of Photography he’s shot numerous commercials and documentaries, including a music doc series for Red Bull called Sound and Vision featuring artists like Haim and Blake Mills, and a surf/skate doc for Monster Children called Team Average Sri Lanka. He also worked on Rennervations for Disney+ and Being Mike Tyson for Fox Sports and shot the show Rough Draft for Topic. Recently, he has been shooting narrative projects like the AMC+ sitcom Cooper’s Bar with Rhea Seehorn and the short films The Chattering and Happy. As a camera operator, Kimo has worked in numerous projects including Westworld, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Lioness and the upcoming Mandalorian and Grogu. As a photographer, he has shot for clients including Jameson, Toyota, and Capital One, and personal projects like Pau Hana Time, documenting the last sugar plantation on Kauai.
